A brand new bar ‘to rival establishments seen in Leeds and Manchester’ is to open its doors in Sheffield next month.
Kettle Black is launching on the site of the former Menzels bar, which closed in September last year, and will be Ecclesall Road’s only bar to boast a 2am licence.
The bar, which is currently undergoing a complete refit and refurbishment, will boast a Champagne bar, an exclusive whisky lounge and a VIP area, as well as a brand new bar area.
Experienced mixologists will be responsible for creating the vast array of cocktails, which will include classics and modern favourites with a twist. Local beers, including IPAs, will also be served, as well a range of alcoholic drinks, fresh juices, teas and coffees.
Kettle Black is a joint business venture between Pete Harpham, Mark Holland and David Nicholson.
Both Mark and David work in the prestige car industry, whilst Pete has worked at some of the best bars and nightclubs both across the UK and in Marbella, Spain.
The trio hope that the bar will bring something different to the people of Sheffield and that customers will have an experience ‘on all levels’.
Pete, aged 31, who is originally from Sheffield, said: “We’re really excited to be bringing Kettle Black to Ecclesall Road. Sheffield is the fourth biggest city in the country but we feel it is two steps behind in terms of quality and exclusive bars. This is a cocktail bar to rival establishments seen in Leeds and Manchester.
“We want to offer our customers an experience on all levels. It’s not just about coming for a drink – it’s about soaking up the atmosphere, taking in the quality surroundings and being looked after by our team of bartenders and hostesses. Everyone who comes in should feel like a VIP.
“The city has been waiting for something like this and its already creating a big buzz. Kettle Black has been a long time in the making and we can’t wait to get started.”
Kettle Black will also offer customers a range of bar snacks, including sharing platters and light bites.
